Performs general maintenance and custodial duties at the Waterloo Center for the Arts (WCA) including opening/securing and general supervision of the building on evening and weekend shifts. Oversees events as directed by the Facilities Services Manager and Events Coordinator, setting up/tearing down for in-house and rental events at WCA and RiverLoop facilities, and serving as a resource person, anticipating and responding to the questions and needs of patrons and other staff members. Assists with supervising support maintenance workers including those working under various community service and employment programs.

Professional and administrative position under the general direction of the Mayor responsible for planning, organizing and directing the operations and activities of a multi-faceted Public Works Department including vehicle maintenance performed through the Central Garage, street maintenance and snow removal, solid waste/yard waste sanitation collection activities and sign/traffic operations including animal control. Extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Responsible for the oversight of union and non-union technicians, equipment operators, skilled laborers and clerical staff.
Assistant Department Head position responsible for coordination and supervision of all maintenance functions of the City's storm and sanitary waste water collection systems and waste water treatment plant. The Phelps Youth Pavilion is an extension of the WCA Education Department. The Gallery Assistant will work in partnership with the PYP Manager and Education Coordinator to facilitate fun and engaging art-based activities at the WCA and PYP. Hours and work schedule are flexible and based on individual needs.
Applicant must be able to perform general sales duties for the Waterloo Center for the Arts Gift Store. This position is supervised by the Gift Store Manager. This is a part-time position.
