Quentin Hart, provided comment on the return of ALO’s early morning departure, “As the Mayor of Waterloo, I would like to take this opportunity to thank officials at American Airlines for their decision to return an early morning departure from Waterloo Regional Airport for the benefit of Cedar Valley passengers.  Scheduled air service is an important economic development component to continue improving the Cedar Valley’s overall economy, so this early morning departure will be an excellent complement to the late morning flight scheduled for 11:55 a.m.”

Keith Kaspari, Airport Director at Waterloo Regional Airport, provided comment, “The return of the early morning departure from Waterloo is excellent news for the entire Cedar Valley.  With passengers located throughout the Cedar Valley Region wanting to get back in the air for visiting friends, family and to take a well-earned vacation, or for business travel that was limited due to the COVID19 pandemic, this new schedule allows the flexibility to make an near-endless number of connections at Chicago with Flight 3848 departing at 7:00 a.m., where-as, for Flight-3531 departing at 11:55 a.m., allows Cedar Valley area passengers to make timely connections to their final destination, especially as American Airlines continues to increase the number of both domestic and international departures at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to destinations all over the U.S. and internationally, in addition to the destinations from American Airlines’ partners in AA’s popular oneworld alliance.”

Kaspari continued, “Without question, and as we continue to put the COVID-19 Pandemic in our rear-view mirror for both business and leisure travel, American Airlines looks forward to serving ALO’s passengers located throughout the Greater Cedar Valley Region returning to fly, and when they do my hope is that they will give Waterloo Regional Airport a close look before beginning their travel from other larger airports in Iowa or Minnesota, so that we can exceed the expectations of officials at American and thank them for their decision to return the early morning departure to ALO.”

Kaspari provided closing comment, “ALO’s airfares for travel throughout the U.S. are still outstanding, and quite a bargain when performing the Fly-Drive Contrast, especially when looking at the cost of the passenger’s time, the higher cost of gas and vehicle parking, longer lines for airline check-in, processing through passenger screening, and pending the time of your departure, a possible overnight stay in a hotel – all combined to showcase that flying locally and from Waterloo Regional Airport the cost of flying from ALO continues to look better and better.”

Waterloo passengers receive the lowest airfare when using American’s award winning website at WWW.AA.COM, or by calling American Airlines reservations at 800-433-7300.
